iPhone SE 4 is expected to launch in early 2025 and unlike the iPhone 15 series, the model is tipped to support the Apple Intelligence features
The big-ticket iPhone 16 launches are done for the year but Apple has another big product to unveil before 2024 ends. However, now the focus shifts to the iPhone 17 flagship series and yes, another iPhone that could be announced way before that.
We’re talking about the iPhone SE 4 model which is likely to be unveiled in early 2025 and also expected to be powered by the A17 Pro or the newer A18 chipset to run the Apple Intelligence features. You will also see the new-look Siri glow on the screen and give you smarter responses. Many expected the iPhone SE 4 model to be part of the iPhone 16 launch event but we didn’t see that coming and for the right reasons.
As we all know, Apple has a dry run in the early part of the year as the sales of the iPhone models subside. So, launching the iPhone SE 4 in early 2025 gives it more traction, and not eat into the margins from the sales of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models.
It has also been confirmed that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models will be deprived of the AI features. So the demand for the cheaper iPhone SE 4 model could be higher than usual, if the design rumours are true.
The iPhone SE 4 or the 2025 models could feature a modern design with a wide notch and possibly support Face ID. In fact, reports say Apple could offer the device in an iPhone 14-like design which will surely appeal to many iPhone users.
The device could feature a 48MP main camera which will be a big upgrade on the 8MP unit. The iPhone SE 4 could come with 6GB RAM and also support USB C for charging which is now a given for all Apple devices in the market. We could even see the iPhone SE moniker switch to OLED panel, which will also be a big upgrade.
The iPhone SE version has been crying out for a big overhaul and we might see Apple fulfilling those wishes in a grand way next year. Having said that, these upgrades will take a hit on the starting price of the SE model and we expect the range to get closer to Rs 60,000 when it launches in the market which is still over Rs 25,000 less than what you pay for the regular iPhone 16 in the market.
