Apple is planning for a big AI overhaul across Siri and other apps for iPhone users and the company could give a big surprise for buyers.
Apple has revealed its big AI plans that will come to fruition with the iPhone 16 series later this year. The company has already confirmed that you need an iPhone 15 Pro or higher model to use its Apple Intelligence (AI) features when they roll out with iOS 18 update. Most reports till date have talked about Apple’s clever plan to make people buy the premium iPhone Pro or Pro Max models if they wish to use the AI features.
But latest developments hint at Apple springing a surprise with the iPhone 16 series and the support for its AI features.
This week leak reports have come out that say Apple could offer the new A18 chipset on all the iPhone 16 models and not just the Pro and Pro Max series. The A18 series will be Apple’s first chipset that will offer built-in capability for the AI features, and probably get a higher performance boost compared to the premium A17 Pro SoC.
This is the first time that Apple will offer the same flagship hardware on all the iPhone models, including the vanilla and the Plus moniker.
The company clearly realises the need to push AI into all its products which means more people will be looking to upgrade from their iPhone 12, 14 or even iPhone 15 model. Analysts have already predicted a bumper time for Apple with millions expected to jump onto these AI-supported iPhones and Macs in the near future.
Will Apple actually make a change for the iPhone 16 series this year, while reports do point that way, we are still not certain that the company will want to lose the differentiating factor between the iPhone 16/16 Plus and the Pro series. Unless, the brand decides to tone down the hardware specs of the regular iPhone 16 models, while giving everything but the kitchen sink on the iPhone 16 Pro and the 16 Pro Max that does well to justify any possible price bump for the buyers.
