AI will touch every industry and can turn anyone into a programmer, says Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang

Generative AI has been the talk of the tech world ever since OpenAI released ChatGPT back in November 2022. Since then, a lot of other AI chatbots as well as tools have gained popularity and many tech experts have said that AI is the future. From Bill Gates and Satya Nadella to Sundar Pichai and Sam Altman, top tech CEOs have said a lot of things about AI and how it will impact job markets in the future. And now, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has said that AI will touch every industry and anyone today can be a programmer thanks to the emerging tech.

For the unversed, Nvidia is one of the largest chipmakers in the world. OpenAI’s ChatGPT was created with thousands of Nvidia GPUs.

According to a Reuters report, Huang, while addressing a huge crowd at Computex forum in Taiwan, said that the end of ‘digital divide’ is here.

Talking about how we are in a ‘new computing era’, Huang said that in every computing era people could do different things that were no possible before.

With artificial intelligence, things that weren’t possible until now are being done. Echoing this thought, the Nvidia CEO said that in today’s times, the barrier of programming is ‘incredibly low’. He also added that everyone can be a programmer today as they just have to ‘say something to the computer’.

He said, “The programming barrier is incredibly low. We have closed the digital divide. Everyone is a programmer now – you just have to say something to the computer.”

Many tech experts have said that AI is growing at a fast pace. Sharing his thoughts on the rate of progression of AI, Huang said, “The rate of progress, because it’s so easy to use, is the reason why it’s growing so fast. This is going to touch literally every single industry.”

OpenAI study lists jobs that AI can replace

In March this year, a study by Open AI, Open Research and the University of Pennsylvania listed various jobs that AI could replace in the future. The study also listed jobs that AI could not replace in the near future.

According to the study, some of the jobs that are at-risk of getting replaced by AI are that of writers and authors, coders, court reporters, copy marketers, accountants, and others.

The study also mentioned certain jobs that could be marked safe from AI. Among these jobs were that of are cooks, bartenders, painters, plumbers, and so on.

While some experts believe that AI could be replacing human jobs in future, others argue that AI is no match for the human mind and will prove to be a valuable asset for humans rather than replacing them completely.
