Before being a philanthropists, firstly it is mandatory to understand the meaning of philanthropy and its importance. Philanthropy defined as love for humankind. It is derived from Greek words “philos”, which means loving “anthropos”, which means humankind. A person who practices philanthropy is called a philanthropist.

The main motive of philanthropy is to improve the well being of humankind by preventing and solving social problems. It is not same as charity. Charity helps the person for short term while philanthropy helps for long run. Charity eliminating the suffering caused by social problems, while philanthropy focuses on eliminating social problems. For example if any person is not financially sound and we give him some amount of money. This money helps the person for a short period of time, in future person will need it again. But if we provide him stitching machine that with stitching you can earn money then it eliminates the social problem by providing him source of income.

To be a philanthropist you need to learn to give with expecting anything in return. Giving without expecting back makes you feel amazing. When you give something to someone and due to that their quality of life became better then it generated positive energy in you. And it can lead to reciprocal giving, sometimes when you least expect it. If you want to help someone then don’t focus on the amount – even the smallest amount of time or money has the potential to make an impact.

You need to learn how to solve the challenges and obstacles we encounter. It does not matter how successful one becomes, there will always be obstacles and challenges. Philanthropy is just another real life exercise we can all participate in,it helps us to learn how to solve the challenging tasks we will face in the future. It removes self – interest.

Through philanthropy you can receive an experience which any classroom can not teach you. It helps you to grow as individual. When you help others it gives you the feeling of greatness. While helping others you learn lot of things as well. These experience will help you in all aspects of life.

So be a philanthropist is the greatest achievement in itself. Everyone is earning for their own and for their family. But if you are thinking out of that then it is the greatest achievement. There are many persons who are earning more than they required for their livelihood. But everyone can not be a philanthropist. To be a philanthropist you need to love human kinds. Look at their problems and try to be the one who is solving their problems. This will gives you the feeling of greatness and you will be the happier and more satisfy person.
