A big part of current young generation dream about studying abroad and eventually settling down there in hope of good life and better earning sources. In this regard, these young aspirants need to take language proficiency test and IELTS is the most popular exam. A good score in IELTS (International English Language Testing System) ensures easy entry in foreign land. However scoring good is another challenge that comes in path of this dream to become real.
IELTS exam consists of four modules (Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking) and scoring good is not only about how good your language skills are but is more about how you attempt the exam. Here in this piece of writing we are going to discuss how to attempt reading module.
We know that it is a time bound exam and we get 60 minutes to attempt all 40 questions in reading module which come in form of 3 comprehensive passages and there is no negative marking of wrong answers. In this scenario, it is important to attempt all questions. We need to make sure, no question is left unanswered as there is no harm in answering wrong. Next comes time management. We get three passages to answer all 40 questions, therefore it is very important to spend time wisely on all three passages. There is no use of spending/wasting time on one difficult question as it can leave us no time to attempt next 5 easy questions. Hence speed is equally important as is knowledge skill and understanding of the passage.
Moreover, it is not important to know the exact meaning of all difficult words in passage. Reading sentence carefully can lead you to find the answer. Reading part does not require you to have knowledge about the subject of the passage as the theme of the passage of can vary form, medical science to pyramids of Egypt and from functioning procedure of a rigid machine to sea food. This is the test of your language skill not your IQ. So, just focus on finding answers and do not divert yourself towards what is writing in given test.
So, all the best to all of you who are preparing to take this test in coming future and attempt wisely.
